Twitter and Google Cloud Platform have agreed a multi-year deal, moving the social media giant’s offline analytics, data processing and machine learning workloads to Google’s Data Cloud. The overall aim of the partnership is to allow both technical and non-technical teams to study and gain insights from data generated from Twitter.
The agreement means that Twitter will be able to process trillions of data points generated more efficiently, generating insights that can improve the core product. In addition, Twitter aims to ‘democratise’ data access – offering a range of data processing and machine learning tools to better understand and improve how Twitter features are used.
